Biography

Based in Manchester, SepticWRLD is an ambient rap producer crafting textured, atmospheric beats. The sound blends calming found-sound recordings, heavy trap drums, and melancholic piano lines, creating a space that sits between relaxation and unease.

The project’s experimental nature is deeply influenced by life with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

Musically, Shaun Chukwuma draws from the emotional lyrics of Juice WRLD and the vocal stacking of Michael Jackson. However, the atmospheric design is heavily inspired by The Purge film franchise, specifically The Purge: Anarchy. The production treats sound design like a film score, blending the tension of jump-scares with alien synthesisers. The siren that commences the purge is a specific point of reference, used to inject a sense of cinematic urgency into the music.

The music offers a distinct mood and rhythm ready to support a strong vocal or a visual scene.

Over the last three years, I have transitioned from the simplicity of GarageBand to the professional depth of Logic Pro, refining a signature style built on atmosphere and immersion. My process centers on the “found and the forgotten” capturing real world recordings and manipulating them through Audacity and PaulStretch to create textures that feel both familiar and alien.

With this cinematic approach, the beats are suited for more than just background listening. SepticWRLD is building a catalogue intended for collaboration with vocalists who want a dense, emotive backdrop, as well as film directors looking for original score.
